Andrew was living with his mother and brother in Warren, Ohio, when he enlisted in the Marines 7 September 1966, at a Cleveland Recruiting Office.
Arriving in Vietnam 18 March 1967, Andrew was assigned to the 1st Platoon of Delta Company, 7th Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division. Andrew was aboard a tank that detonated a concealed hostile land mine, 2 kilometers from the Liberty Bridge and 22 kilometers south southwest of Danang in Quang Nam Province. Andrew was wounded by fragmentation wounds from the mine explosion. He was med-evac for treatment and then transported to the US Naval Hospital in Yokosuka, Japan for further treatment, where he of his wounds 25 December 1967, sustained 18 December 1967.
Survived by his mother, Julia B Hudak and 2 brothers; Gerald A and Kenneth Hudak both of 432 Olive Avenue, Northeast, Warren, Ohio and his father; Andrew A Hudak of 302 54th Street, Duquense, PA.
