Charles Marlin Nuzman, 67, Chanute, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at his home. He was born May 31, 1938, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Neil M. and Effie E. Showalter Nuzman. He moved to Neodesha as a small child and graduated from Neodesha High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Air Force in Korea, Alaska, Japan, Thailand and Guam from 1957 - 1977, when he retired. After he retired from the military, he worked for the City of Neodesha as a water plant operator. He retired in 2000 and moved to Chanute. He was a member of First Church of God in Chanute and was a life member of VFW in Neodesha. He was known as "The Angel Man" because of his angel collection which totaled 1,270 at last count. Survivors include a sister, Judith Hinthorn, Independence, and a brother, Neil Nuzman. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Neiletta McGuire. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at First Church of God, led by Pastor Gary Bates and the Rev. Shelly Holle. Burial will be at noon in Neodesha City Cemetery with military honors conducted by VFW Posts #5962 and #3018. The family will receive friends from 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where memorials to the church may be left. Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel, Chanute, is in charge of arrangements.
