MICHAEL GUADAGNOLO,SR.
Michael Guadagnolo, Sr., a resident of Larchmont for more than 40 years, died suddenly yesterdasy at his home at 82 Murrey Avenue., Larchmont. He was eighty-seven years old.
A retired employe for the Town of Mamaroneck maintance department, Mr. Guadagnolo had lived in Larchmont sience 1928.
Born September,, twenty-ninth, 1883 in Calabria, Italy, he came to the United States in 1904. He was the son of the late Savara (Torchis) and Rosario Guadagnolo and the husband of the late Frances DeCicco Guadagnolo.
Michael came to America in 1907 from Cosenza, Italy on the Miccara Ship. Port of entry was NY City.
He was the fourth brother to come to America from Italy. Two brothers came together, being the first, another came and then Michael in 1907.

Grandpa Guadagnolo returned to Italy and brought back his family. Frances his wife and two sons, Louie (LuIgi) and Frank came to America in 1910 from Cosenza, Italy on the ship Indiana, port of intry was NY City.

Michael and France lived in Glasco, N.Y. approx. 19 years and farmed land for a living. These were hard years and the children tell the story of how hungery they were at times.

The older sons moved to Larchmont,NY and sent home provisions for the family. They eventually moved the family to Larchmont in 1929 when my husband John Anthony was about 5 years old.

They lived in Larchmont for 41 years and at 82 Murrey Avenue for 36 of those 41 years. Son, Frank had a home build next door to his parents..

It was a wonderful adventure for our two sons, Ernest Anthony (Tony) and Charles Michael (Mike)to make the drive from Texas to NY to spend two week with thier grandparents and see all the family there. So much fun to hear the Italian and English languages mixed together in comversation. Grandpa siting in an old chair in the back yard, smoking his pipe telling us stories and grandma always busy taking care of everyone.

They always had a huge garden, mostly tomato plants because they caned the tomatoes to make the wonderful "grave sauce" for the spaghetti.

Michael, wife Frances and son Earnest"Earnie" were all buried in the same (3-stacked) gravespace.-in New. Rochelle at the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. A- 3 people -stacked gravesite, Earnest, mother and Father..
