Raymond Wilbur Harrill, 91, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center.

Born in Dallas, NC, he was the loving husband of Thelma Baker Harrill for 68 years and son of the late George Harrill and Carrie Horne Harrill.

He retired from Cherokee Finishing and was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. Mr. Harrill was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church where he was a former deacon, Sunday School teacher, and worked in outreach programs ministering to neighborhood children. He was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Rhonda H. Clary and husband, Benny of Gaffney; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son; two brothers, Talmadge Harrill and Clyde Harrill; and two sisters, Stella Mae Harrill and Lillie White.

Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
