He was a member of the Methodist chuch and a retired associate of Southern Detectives of Atlanta and alifelong resident of Laurens County before moving to North Charleston three years ago.
Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Lula Fountain of North Charleston; three sons, Clyde of Cartersville, Wilbur of North Charleston, and Roy of Marietta; two daughters, Mrs. Lena Mae Simons of Marietta and Mrs. Dorothy Johnson of North Charleston; two brothers, Wesley of Danville and Albert of Milledgeville; two sisters, Mrs. Fannie Wheeler and Mrs. Mamie Knowles, both of Macon; 14 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
