Wife of Jacob Hutto
mother to Henry, Elizabeth, Allen, Sarah, Susannah and Matilda
They married about 1820 in Barnwell, SC.
(still searching for info on Elizabeth's parents)
Elizabeth's family came to SC from VA. She had 4 brothers, John, Jim, Joe and Thomas. Her sisters were Patsy, Susie and Vina(Lavina). One of her nephews was Col John B Patrick, an officer in the Confederate army, who went on to found the Patrick Military Institute at Anderson, SC.
His son, Dr. Robert G. Patrick, was president for several years of Judson Baptist Female College, Marion, AL. This institution pioneered in America in the education of women.
Elizabeth had dark hair that never turned gray and was "a good looking woman". Later in life she was badly stooped with rheumatism and was buried in a wide casket lying on her side.
Jacob and Elizabeth moved to Alabama in 1836 from SC. They lived primarily in Pike and Coffee counties. (This info taken from a family record of Allen Hutto dictated to his son JR Hutto in 1909 and sent to me by L Cotton, thank you Lanny).
I'm really not sure how much of this is true, I have been unable to document alot of this and continue to research Elizabeth's family without much luck.
They were living in Talladega Co in the 1860's, this is where Jacob died and was buried. Elizabeth moved back to south Alabama to be closer to her daughters.

It appears Elizabeth and Jacob's daughter Matilda died a young woman leaving several children. The 1850 US Census from Pike Co shows 17 yo Matilda living at home with her parents and younger sister Susannah. By 1860 she is married with 4 young children. Matilda married Daniel Cole 4 Sept 1851 in Pike Co with the ceremony performed by Shadrack Easterling, J.P., son of Thomas and Agnes Posey. The 1860 US Census of Pike Co, Indian Creek post office has Matilda living with David Cole and four small children. David is either a transcription error or Daniels' middle name. Her children are Sarah Ann 8, John Oscar 6, Susan 5, and Thomas A 4. Her older sister Sarah "Sallie" and her husband William Posey and family are living close by. From the 1870 US Census from Pike Co (then known as Bullock Co) we know she had one other child named Robert born abt 1860. Daniel remarried to Melinda Jackson 16 Nov 1865 and had a son William born abt 1867. The 1870 US Census Indian Creek Bullock Co has Daniel living with Melinda age 40, Sarah now 18, John Oscar 16, no mention of Susan or Thomas who would have been 15 and 14 respectively but there is a child named Robert 10, making him to old to be Daniel and Melinda's. So we can surmise Matilda died between 1860-1865 along with Susan and Thomas. They are probably buried in unmarked graves at Fairview Cemetery in Bullock Co AL. Daniel's CSA pension records have him being mustered in Feb 1862 in Clayton AL with Co K 29th AL Regiment and being captured and paroled May 1865 in Meridian, MS. It could be on his return he learned of his wife's and children's death. Malinda Jackson and her family had lived close to the Hutto's, Posey's and King's in Pike county since the 1850's. She was probably a childhood friend of Daniel and Matilda's or maybe even a cousin. She may have cared for the remaining children after their Mother's death while Daniel was off in war, she was unmarried. They had all lived in close proximity to each other for years.
