VACURA, Wesley L.

PLAINS-Wesley L. Vacura, 83, died Saturday, June 28, 1997 at Evergreen Convalescent Center in Hot Springs.

Memorial services were to be Wednesday, July 3, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Plains Alliances Church. Interment took place in Plains Cemetery, with military graveside honors. A luncheon was to follow in the Plains VFW Hall.

Wesley was born Feb. 7, 1914 in Camas Prairie, Montana to Louis and Annie (Linhart) Vacura. Raised and educated in Plains, he and Dorothy Vannice were married July 12, 1938 in Columbus, MT.

He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945. He and Dorothy lived in several places during that time. They then moved back to Plains. Wesley ran Vacura Motors until retiring in the mid 1980s.

He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy on June 25, 1995; a son, Warren; and two brothers, Ed and John.

Wesley is survived by a son, Wayne Vacura, wife Beth, and children Amber and Travis, of Plains; daughter-in-law Hazel Vacura of Florence, Ore., and her daugthers Janice, Trisha (Mrs. Brian Goss) and Dian (Mrs. Jeff Michna).

He is also survived by sisters Edith Avery and Gertrude Bryce, both of Plains; Florence Overcast, Missoula; Ramona Larson, Polson; Levina Noll, Alaska; and Roxie Brothers, Kelispell; and brothers Clarence Vacura, Missoula; Albert Vacura, Alaska; and Joe Vacura, Kallispell.

Wesley was a former member of the Elks Lodge and was still active in American Legion Post #129 of Paradise.

Memorials may be made to the Horse Plains VFW Auxillary, Sanders County Hospice, or to a charity of choice.

Arrangements were handled by Coffelt-Bunch Funeral Service of Plains.
