Born in Hartford, he was the youngest of four sons of the late James and Helen (Smith) Madigan.
He retired from the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation. A devoted family man, he enjoyed the simple things in life and was an avid, lifelong Red Sox fan.
Besides his wife, he leaves four precious children Eugene Thomas Madigan of Windsor, Patricia Carpenter of Newington, Maureen Plourd and her husband Ken of Newington and Rosemary Forrest, widow of James Forrest, of New Britain. Also surviving him are eleven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Erin, and Katie Madigan, Cheryl Troth, Paul and Gary Carpenter, Kenny and Andrew Plourd, Jason Levesgue, and April and Emily Forrest, and eight great-grandchildren. He also leaves his mother-in-law, Helen Clarke of Avon.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 9:00 a.m. from Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church.
Burial will be in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Newington Memorial.
