COLLIERVILLE, TN. - Albert Rodell Beaty, 85, died December 3, 2010 at his home in Collierville, Tennessee.

He was born in Taylorville, Illinois and lived much of his lifetime in Edinburg, Illinois. He served with the U. S. Army in Europe during World War II and after that service owned and operated the Edinburg Lumber Company. He was a founding director and the first President of the Citizens Bank of Edinburg, organized in 1970. After moving to Springfield, Illinois for a few years and a period of employment with the Illinois Farmers Union, he retired in Tennessee. He was a member of the Westside Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Springfield, Illinois; a member of the American Legion and a brother of the Blueville Lodge of the Masons.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 63 years, Martha Jane Beaty, who cared for him in his declining health. He is also survived by his two sons, Douglas R. Beaty (Rhonda) of Germantown, Tennessee and Kirk A. Beaty of Cordova, Tennessee and three grandchildren, Rebecca Blair Beaty, Patton Reed Beaty and Maddison Grace Beaty, all of Germantown, Tennessee. The eldest of nine children, he leaves seven brothers and sisters.

He was interred in the Veteran's Cemetery for Western Tennessee following a Military Honors service at that facility located at 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road in Memphis, Tennessee at 2 p.m. on December 16, 2010. The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital . Arrangements have been entrusted to: High Point Funeral Chapel
