Ernest Daniel Alexander, 93, of 1105 W. South Broad Street, Walhalla, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020, at Oconee Memorial Hospital. A native of Greenville, SC, Mr. Alexander was the son of the late William Christopher and Mary Elizabeth Perry Alexander. He was a graduate of Walhalla High School, Southern Wesleyan University and Clemson University. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was the owner and operator of Walhalla Barber Shop and was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Walhalla. Mr. Alexander is survived by his daughter: Glenda Alexander of Anderson, SC; and three grandchildren by his son: Daniel Alexander, Jr., Monica Alexander and Renee Alexander Bryson; and one great-grandson by Renee Bryson. He married Edith Pauline Holden who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers: William Perry, Lewis Christopher, Homer Augustus and Harold Bryant Alexander; his sisters: Elizabeth Artrulia McGuffin and Virginia Elrod; and his son: Daniel Lee Alexander. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 6, 2020, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Alexander Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM, Sunday, January 5, 2020, at Davenport Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted. The family is at their respective homes.
