James M. Fahey, 90, of 210 Allengate Avenue, Pittsfield, died December 20, 2010 at Craneville Place in Dalton.

Born in Dalton on June 20, 1920, son of Patrick J. and Grace Mather Fahey, he resided in Pittsfield most of his life. He graduated from local schools and the former Berkshire Business College.

He was employed as a manufacturing administrator at the General Electric Company, retiring in 1984 after twenty-five years of service. He worked in the OP #3 guidance facility on Merrill Road.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving as a platoon sergeant with the 88th Glider Infantry, and was honorably discharged from the 1st Allied Airborn Army in Dec. of 1945. He served in the European African Middle Eastern Theater. He enjoyed bowling and golfing and was a former member of the Berkshire Hills Country Club and the G.E.A.A. Mr. Fahey was a communicant of the former St. Mary The Morning Star Church.

His wife, the former Agnes Garrity, died in 2008 after sixty-two years of marriage. They were married in September of 1946.

He leaves a daughter, Kathleen A. Fahey and her husband, Paul Williams, of Reading, England; two grandsons, Alexander Fahey Williams and Nicholes Fahey Williams of Reading, England. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Mary Eagen, of Pittsfield.

Committal Services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum Chapel at St. Joseph's Cemetery. The Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor of St. Charles Church, will be officiating.
