Ida Ruth (Kensil) Leinbach, 100, formerly of Raymond Street, Laureldale, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at Spruce Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Harrington, who died in December of 1960, and by her second husband, Adam S. Leinbach, in June of 2007. Born in Reading, on Dec. 10, 1910, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Katie (Marberger) Kensil.
Ida Ruth was a 1928 graduate of Reading High School. She was employed for 20 years as a secretary with Reading Eagle Company and the Boy Scouts of America before her retirement in 1980. She was a member of Grace (Alsace) United Church of Christ, Hyde Park.
Ida Ruth is survived by her stepdaughter, Judith L. (Leinbach), wife of William D. Maitland, Pine City, N.Y.; two stepgrandchildren, Andrew R. Maitland, Pine City, N.Y.; and James T. Maitland, Niles, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 29, at noon in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, with the Rev. Bonnie Dalious officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Alsace Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
