Later I found on ancestry.com that Richard D Allison had been married earlier and she died before he married Mary "Polly" Mullins. Richard had children by his first wife. JKT (47403984), great granddaughter of James W. Mullins.
----------
Richard D Alderson/Allison was born in Virginia. His parents Rachel Susan Cole & Jeremiah Alderson. Richard's first wife was Elizabeth Crafton. They married in Lunenburg, VA, 27 Jan 1807. Elizabeth Crafton Alderson died in 1817. About 1826/27 Richard Alderson moved to Tennessee. He married Mary Mullins in Rutherford County, Feb 1831. I'm not sure when they moved to Graves Kentucky, but there is a 1850 census for them, their name is misspelled, Ollison or maybe a bad transcription of the information. On the 1850 census there are 3 children living with them with the last name Mullins.
War of 1812: Pension Application Files Index 1812-15; Mary Mullins is listed as the widow of Richard D Allison or Alderson. Soldier's first wife Elizabeth Crafton. He served as Pvt., Capt. John D Richardson's Company, Virginia.
Richard Alderson had a sister her name was Elizabeth she married Staples Crafton, Staples is the brother of Elizabeth Crafton Alderson. So Alderson siblings marry Crafton siblings. Staples is my 4th great grandfather. Bio by: Janice Fry (48203542).
