Amos A. Bidlack, who was the owner of the Bible, James Bidlack died on August 25, 1850.
From the 1850 census record, as well as documents pertaining to the settlement of his estate, we know that the year in which he died was 1850, not 1849. Which was on a Sunday. (Bidlack Periodical by Dr. Russell E. Bidlack)
Perhaps the tombstones for both James and his son Almon C. (Memorial #80768196) were procured a number of years following their deaths, and family memories had become vague.
