Sergeant 1st Class Reginald Lawrence, 33, of Jordan and Glasgow, died on December 19th at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

SFC Lawrence is survived by wife Sara, two-year-old daughter Reese Meradith, and one-year-old son Drew Bentley.

He was born in Glasgow, Montana on May 23, 1977, the son of Richard and Earline Lawrence. He grew up and attended schools in Jordan, graduating from Garfield County High School in 1995. He then attended University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota, Montana State University and MSU in Billings, graduating in 2001.

He joined the Army in 2001 and was stationed at Ft. Drum with the 10th MTN. Division. He deployed to Iraq in 2003. SFC Lawrence graduated the SF Qualification Medic Course in 2007 and was assigned to A Co, 1st BN, 3rd SFG(A), ODA 3114 at Fort Bragg, NC.

SFC Lawrence deployed to Afghanistan in 2009. He has attended Airborne school, SERE school, SFAUC, Static Line Jumpmaster, HALO, and Air Assault. His decorations include a Bronze Star, Army Accommodation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal Special Forces Tab and the Combat Infantryman's Badge.

A Vigil service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Garfield County High School Gymnasium in Jordan. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of the Pioneer Cemetery with full military honors. Condolences may be made to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.

Governor Brian Schweitzer has ordered that the National flag and State flag be flown at half-staff on Thursday, December 30th, 2010, to honor his memory.

The cause of death has not been released.
