Arthur B. Magnuson, 79, of 545 Glendale Road died Wednesday at home. He spent 38 years in the wholesale optical sales business, and worked for Bausch-Lomb Corp. of New York City and American Optical Co. Born in Everett, he lived here for 23 years. He was a 50-year Mason and member of the Aurora Lodge. He leaves his wife, the former Marjorie L. Bean; a son, David B. of Wilbraham; two daughters, Lois P. Dodson of Westford, and Lynne E. Gilbert of Ithaca, N.Y.; a brother, Clifford D. Magnuson of Falmouth, and five grandchildren. A private graveside service will be conducted at Glendale Cemetery in Wilbraham, and there are no calling hours. Byron Funeral Home on Allen Street, Springfield, is in charge, and memorial contributions may be made to the Quaboag Valley Hospice, 103 Fairview, Palmer, 01069, or any other charity.
