Robert Harvey Gray, ("Bobby")("Crockett"), 71, of Blacksburg, died Tuesday, December 22, 1998, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on June 9, 1927, to the late Harvey W. and Gladys Linkous Gray. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Gray, and a brother-in-law, Henry "Nick" Hudgins. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the printing department at VPI&SU after 35 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Janie Alls Gray of Blacksburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda G. and Dale Lucas of Newport, Rosie G. and Frankie Alderman of Blacksburg; two sons and daughters-in-law, Crockett Jr. and Pam Gray and Charles and Wanda Gray, all of Blacksburg; three sisters, Arlene Hudgins, Martha Wikstrom, both of Blacksburg, Nancy Montgomery of Greensboro, N.C.; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis and Peggy Gray, Joe and Betty Gray, and Harold Gray, all of Blacksburg; eight grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 26, 1998, at 2:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. Friends may call any time after 3:00 p.m. Friday, and from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
