She was born Oct. 21, 1911, to Roscoe C. & Emma Mae Lesher in Normal, Illinois; she was one of seven children.
She met Leland H. Dunham, also known as Bill, in 1934, and they were married April 17, 1937. From their union, a son, William (Marilyn) of Prescott, Arizona , a daughter, Carol Doane, (Bill) of Flagstaff, Arizona, and a daughter, Marilyn Sutch (Richard) of Henderson, Nevada, were born.
She had lived in Phoenix for many years before moving to Boulder City, Nevada, about five years ago, to be near her daughter, Marilyn. She resided in an assistant living facility, The Homestead, and was very happy living there.
She was a wonderful wife and mother and the matriarch of her family. She is survived by her three children, 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, three step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, who died May 11, 1961, and one granddaughter.
The family requests that donations be made, in her memory, in lieu of flowers, to The Atlanta, Illinois Library & Museum, Atlanta, Illinois, 61723, or a charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be held Dec. 27, 2010 at 10 a.m. at her place of residence, the Homestead, in Boulder City, Nevada.
Services will be held in Atlanta, Illinois, in the latter part of April or first of May, 2011, and burial will be in the Atlanta Cemetery next to her late husband, Judge Leland H. Dunham. The time and place of the service will be announced at a later date.
