Mary Barbara Trunt, age 88 of Grand Rapids, MN died Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at TLC Serenity Home in Grand Rapids. Mary was born in 1922 to John and Anna Novacek in Tabor, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm south of Warren, MN. She moved to Crookston where she met her best friend Bernice Gruhot and followed her to Minneapolis. It was there she met and married Earl Trunt on May 7, 1949. In 1965, the family moved to the Swan River area, where she worked as a cook at Bruno's Truck stop in Swan River. Mary was proud of the fact that she traveled two oceans and was able to visit China and several European countries. She was an avid gardener and also loved to dance. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to give candy to her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl; sister Agnes; brothers Joe, Gabriel, Frank and Henry.
She is survived by one brother, George (Judy) Novacek of Lakeville, MN; two daughters, Joan Trunt of Aurora, CO; Renee`(Michael Davis) Trunt of Grand Rapids, MN; two sons, Leo (Edna) Trunt of Swan River, MN and Dennis (Jackie) Trunt of Goodland, MN; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A Visitation with the family will be Monday, December 27th from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, and will continue on Tuesday, December 28th at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Warba, MN from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 Noon Mass of Christian Burial. Rev. Fr. Jerry Weiss will officiate. Inurnment will be in Sago Cemetery.
