David C. Henderson, 76, of Peoria passed away Friday, April 14, 2023, at home.

He was born May 2, 1946, to Carroll and Barbara Henderson, who preceded him in death.

David served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He worked for Caterpillar as a welder for 29 years.

He was a life member of the VFW Post 2078, Vietnam Veterans of Central Illinois, and an executive member of 92 Bravo.

David was an avid historian and collector. He loved baseball and collecting baseball cards, model cars, and an array of historical and military memorabilia. He would watch Cubs games, keep score, and attended many Peoria Chiefs games.

He was a member of the group behind the WWI and WWII memorials at the Peoria County Courthouse. He was committed to ensuring no one who served in any war was forgotten.

He loved going out to eat and enjoyed going to Longhorn Steakhouse, where he and Paula recently became Legendary Guests.

Cremation has been accorded, and per his wishes, no services will be held.
