Funeral services for Samuel Leslie Strait were held at 2PM, Wednesday at Precht-Pickering Funeral Home in Mexico.
Mr. Strait, 63, a resident of Mexico, died Monday at Audrain Medical Center.
He was a son of John Strait and Lela (Craighead) Strait Williams Pugh. He worked at Fulton State Hospital for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie O. Gentry of Mexico, two sons, Robert of Frankfort and Harold of Mexico, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, two brothers, Eddie Ray (Kay) Williams of Auxvasse and Thomas Stanley (Jerry) Williams of Fulton, a sister, Mrs. Thomas (Deane) Owen of Kingdom City, his mother, Lela Lessie Pugh, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Reverand Marvin Jones of Friendship Babtist Church, where Mr. Strait was a member, officiated.
Burial was in Elmwood Cemetary in Mexico.

Leslie was adopted by his maternal grandparents, Samuel and Lillie Draper Craighead. He was raised by his grandfather after his grandmother passed away.
