He was born June 25, 1959 in Springfield, Illinois to David R. and Claretta Kane Drury, Sr. He married Darlyne Farley on June 9, 1993 and she survives. Also surviving are his parents David R. and Claretta Drury, Sr. of Girard; 2 daughters, Angie and Jennifer Drury both of Springfield; one step-daughter, Lacey (Bryan) Mcconomy of Springfield; one step-son, William Loveall of Springfield; four grandchildren; one sister, Glenora Passini of Kincaid, three brothers, Geoffry (Judy) Drury of Kincaid, Benjamin Drury of Athens and Ian (Jamie) Drury of San Diego, CA and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by one step-son, Adam Loveall.
David was a U.S. Army Veteran and a lifetime member of the DAV. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and hunting. He was a resident of the Springfield area all of his life. He worked construction, last having worked for Griffiths Construction.

Funeral Service: 6:30 p.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Victor Angulo officiating.
Graveside Service: 10 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, where Sangamon County Interveterans will conduct military honors.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society for colon cancer research.
