AUBURN - Charles Edward Yancy, Sr. 79, of Auburn, died at 9:15 am, Saturday, December 25, 2010 at his home.

He was born July 4, 1931 in Philadelphia, Illinois to Clarence R. and Edith Black Yancy. He married Donna Jean Lewis on May 7, 1955. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2009. Also preceding him in death were his parents.

He is survived by two daughters Diana L. (James E.) Bosie of Springfield and Debra K. (Randy) Blevins of Girard; one son Charles E. (Norma) Yancy, Jr. of Divernon; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Charles was a resident of Auburn since 1976. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired after 30 years of service from Commonwealth Edison in Kincaid.

Memorial Gathering: 5-7 pm Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home

Memorial Service: 10:00 am Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Staab Funeral Home with Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
