VENTURA, Calif - The day after Christmas, we lost a lovely woman whose mission in life was to bring happiness, smiles and laughter to all who knew her.

Kathryn Gail Borneman (always known as "Kaye") was killed tragically, in a car accident as she was returning from one of her lifelong favorite pastimes: watching movies. Born in Ventura, Calif. in 1967, from early on, Kaye had a passion for Hollywood movies and Broadway musicals. At the age of 10, after watching Star Wars, she set her sights on becoming part of "the Biz" and meeting Harrison Ford. She attended Montalvo elementary and Anacapa Junior High, graduating from Buena High School in 1985. She majored in Film Studies at Chapman College, Calif., always working towards learning more about entertainment, script writing and the stars and graduated in 1990. Kaye took several jobs working for big L.A. studios such as ABC and Disney. One of her favorite jobs was working at the Oscar ceremonies escorting the "talent" to arid from their seats, as well as to recruit friends and family to serve as seat fillers for the production. She always brought her lively and quirky sense of humor to her work and organized themed parties both at home (like Indiana Jones Night) and at work (such as holding ugly sweater competitions). Kaye thrived on bringing joy to others. In 2004, she moved from L.A. to begin a new career as a senior project manager working for Dealer.com in Burlington, Vt. where she quickly became a muchloved employee who was both professional in her work and enthusiastic in bringing a spirit of good cheer to her co-workers, friends and relations. Kaye took to her new environment eagerly, making friends and establishing herself in local service clubs and at a local church. In the words of her wide circle of friends and relatives, "Kaye, you will be missed so very much."

Though she has joined her recently deceased mother in the Kingdom of Heaven, Kaye is profoundly missed by her father, John, and her brother, Robert, both of Ventura, Calif. and by her sister, Merry, of Mill Valley, Calif.

Remembrance gatherings will be held in Burlington, Vt. on January 8, 2011 at First Baptist Church (81 St. Paul St.) and another in Van Nuys, Calif. on Jan. 15, 2011 at the Church of the Valley (6565 Vesper Ave.), each at 3 p.m.
