Prominent savings and loan executive in Springfield. He was an active leader in church, civic and fraternal affairs for many years. Member of Masons and Ansar Shrine, Optimist Club, and an elder and trustee of Third Presbyterian Church.

Born in Briton Ferry, Wales, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Aurelius. He came to the U. S. with his parents in 1881.

Survived by his wife Lilliam M.; son Frank; daughters Mrs. Joel Rogers, Mrs. James Coddington, and Mildred and Lois Aurelius; sisters Mrs. Axel T. Smith and Mrs. William Wood; brothers Thomas and Joseph Aurelius; eight grandchildren.
