He was born to Joseph and Pauline Trager Nelson on February 11,1924 in Clinton. he went to school in Clinton and graduated from Clinton high in 1942 and in December of that same year entered the Air Force and went overseas he servd a year and half and he served as CPL from 1942-1945.He was with the 462nd Bombardment Group and was in the India-Burma-China Air Offense.

He was a Ammunition Handler,Carbine Sharpshooter and he was awarded a metal for that on October 16,1943.He was in Motor school for General Blacksmithing & welding Specialist in 1943.He receive a medal for Good Conduct and also a Distinguished Unit Badge,he also receive lapel button for Corporal on September 2,1945.

He was Honorable Discharged from the Army Air Corp in November 20,1945.

He was with a group that was a dinner-bowling as a farewell party for a friend that enlisted in the Air Force and was to be leaving in a couple of days.He was a member of St. John's Episcopal church,the DeMoley Boys and the American Legion.

At the time of his death he was employed at DuPont Co in the casting area.Friends may call at the Snell funeral home.Services will be conducted at the funeral at 3 p.m. Tuesday by Rev.R.T.Dickerson of St.John's church.The combined veteran's organization will conduct military rites at the grave in Clinton Memorial Park cemetery.

Pallbears will be Howard Dawson,David Shaff,Marvin Ebensberger,Harold Adams,Kenneth Luckritz,William Frahm,Edward Hill and Nobert Trine.
