Susie A. Whitehead was born March 31, 1892, in Alabama. She was the daughter of George Washington & Martha A. Pendergrass Whitehead. Susie married John Henderson Morgan; and to this union was born five known children - Vela Mae (Guffey), Myrtle (Gutherie/Rutledge), Grady, Vester Stella (Black), and Leila Ruth (Garrett/Phillips).

Susie was a member of the Free Holiness Church.

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. - Mrs. Susie Morgan, 83, of Rt. 3, Scottsboro, wife of John H. Morgan, died Thursday in Jackson County Hospital.
Surviving are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Mae Guffey, Higdon, Ala., Mrs. Myrtle Guthrie, Gadsden, Ala., Mrs. Stella Black, Chattanooga, Tenn., and Mrs. Ruth Garrett, of Huntsville.
Also, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were to be held at 2 p.m. CST today at Oak Grove Holiness Church.
The Rev. Charles Willman [sic] was to officiate. Internment was to be in New Prospect Cemetery with Scottsboro Funeral Home in charge.
