The youngest son of the country music star Earl Scrugg shot his wife to death with a pistol, then killed himself, a prosecutor said Wednesday. The son, Steve Scruggs, and his wife, Elizabeth, were found in their house about 30 miles northeast of Nashville, said the prosecutor, Dent Morriss. Mr. Scruggs, with two brothers, Randy and Gary, was a member of the Earl Scruggs Revue.
