BURLESON RITES THIS AFTERNOON-
Funeral services for D.D. Burleson, 78, who died Friday at 9:45 a.m. at Decatur General Hospital, will be today at 3 p.m. at Guntharp Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. W.K. Stephenson and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mason Pearce, Decatur; two sons, Dr. R.J. Burleson, Ashville, NC; Dan Burleson Jr, Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Mae B. Rountree; Mrs. Eleanor Scruggs, Decatur; six grandchildren.
The body will remain at the funeral home.
Mr. Burleson retired three months ago as auditor of the City of Decatur. He had held that position for 22 years, and had received many honors for his service with the city.
Mr. Burleson entered the hospital March 31 after suffering a heart attack.
