Suggested edit: Harrisonburg, March 7,1931 — Grief and sorrow gripped Harrisonburg last night when news flashed throughout the city that John N. Garber, one of the city’s outstanding citizens and business men, had died suddenly while at a dinner given by the Presbyterian women in the social hall of the church.

Death was caused by heart trouble with which Mr. Garber had been afflicted for some time. He and Mrs. Garber were sitting at a table enjoying dinner. Mrs. Garber noticed that his head dropped forward. She grabbed him and rested his head on her shoulder while he breathed his last.

His business affiliations were extensive, as were also his fraternal and civic associations. Mr. Graber was born near Bridgewater in 1862. His widow and two children survive; also three brothers and sisters. The funeral will be held from the residence here Sunday afternoon at three o’clock. Burial will be in Wood bine cemetery.
