His death record lists December 28, 1890 instead and 1890 was his accepted birth year. Vahan's mother joined them in 1909 after their father's death. Vahan served in World War I and settled in Quincy. He married Vartanoush Kurkjian and was the father of Vaughn and Nancy. He owned a bowling alley which went out of business during the Great Depression and then worked as a gravedigger at Mount Wollaston. His wife died in 1948 and he Vahan lived with his daughter and her family for the rest of his life.
