Elizabeth Neat Wilkerson was born 17 July 1876 in Kearney, Clay Co., MO. She was the third child of William Thomas Wilkerson and Mary Deborah Leach. Elizabeth married Albert Cole Read in Liberty, Clay Co., MO on 14 July 1903 and they moved to El Paso, TX where Albert worked in the library. In 1907 the family moved to Los Angeles where Albert worked in the LA public Library. From 1918 until the time of her death, on 31 October 1960, the family home was in Glendale. Elizabeth was an active church member and a member of PEO. She was survived by two sons and five grandchildren.
