MISSOULA – Funeral services for George Hardisty Adams, 73, of Missoula were held Thursday, Sept. 14, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Missoula. Burial followed in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Adams died of natural causes Saturday, Sept. 2, 1995.
He was born Aug. 10, 1922 at Chinook to Thomas W. and Frances Herbison Adams. He attended school at Chinook; Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; Wisdom, Mont. And at Six Mile near Huson. As a young man, he worked on his father's ranch.
George and Nadine A. Winn were married June 14, 1944 at Thompson Falls. The couple ranched until moving to Missoula where George drove a taxi. In 1946, they moved to California where he drove L.A. Motorcoach, and in 1947, they moved back to Missoula. Later, in 1947, they moved to Great Falls where George drove a tanker truck for Taber Tank Lines. He transferred back to Missoula in 1954, to drive a tanker for Consolidated Bulk Commodities. He retired in 1973 due to a disability.
George enjoyed horses and hunting and camping with his family. He was a devoted husband, dedicated father and a loving grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John and Tom.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Nadine; two sons, George Winn Adams, Montevideo, Minn. And Floyd Hardisty Adams, Missoula; a brother, Frank W. Adams, Evaro Hill; a grandson, Roy; three granddaughters, Heather, Tanya and Londa; nine stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five nephews and six nieces.
