Mr. Branum was born in Roxton, Feb. 26, 1937, son of Theodore and Lessie (McKeever) Branum, and died in Kaufman on Dec. 24, 2010.
He was outgoing, friendly and always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved horse trading, fishing and socializing and he loved family, friends and people in general. He was a union iron worker with Elwin Smith and P.P.G.
Branum was involved in community activities, and participated in the Golden Oak Property Owner Assoc. He was of the protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Emily Branum of Mabank; three daughters, Janice Watkins and husband Mike of Nacadoches, Judy McClara and husband Robert of Wills Point and Rozanne Garza of Wills Point; five grandchildren, Merci, Cherysh, Lonni, Casey and Richard; six great-grandchildren, Lance, Kaeley, Briggs, Rylie, Hunter and Degan; three sisters, Anne Carcopa of Georgia, Charlotte Castello and husband Dean of El Paso and Betty Jump of California.
There are also many nieces, nephews and loving friends far and wide who will miss him.
