Funeral for James Wash McAdams, 101, Ninnekah, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday Oct 1, 1993 in Brown-Binyon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Kemper, pastor of Ninnekah United Methodist Church officiating.
He was born Nov 24, 1891 in Granger, Texas, the son of James P. McAdams and Permelia Cargal McAdams. He died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1993 in Chickahsa.
James married Esther LaFollette McAdams on April 21, 1936 in Chickasha.
Mr. McAdams was a veteran of World War I. He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in the 90th Division. He was later transferred to the 24th Division of the Pennsylvania National Guard and served one year overseas. James was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He moved to Gracemont in 1908 from Granger, Texas. He moved to Grady County in 1942 and was a farmer all of his life. He attended the United Methodist Church.
James was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Esther McAdams of the home; a daughter, Judith McAdams of the home; three brothers, Glen McAdams of Riverside, Calif., William "Shorty" McAdams of Sunnymeade, Calif., and Emzy McAdams of Chickasha; and several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Binyon Funeral Home.
