He retired from teaching at Highland Junior High school in Barberton and enjoyed fishing, golfing and his winters in Florida. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and a member of AARP in Coventry.
He was preceded in death by brother, Paul Stokes. He is survived by his wife, Ethel; children, Ed (Lil) Stokes, Carol Sue (Bud) Dague, Beth (Jim) Gagnon, Curt (Sherry) Stokes, Janet White, Bill White; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lu Piersol; sister-in-law, Winifred Stokes; numerous nieces and nephews.
