The Fulton Telegraph-1888: Ward M. Baker entertained quite a number of his friends on last Friday evening. A rich supper was served and all present seemed to highly enjoy the occasion. The following young ladies and gentlemen were present: Misses Susie Humphrey, Lena Baker, Emma Garver, Emma Poston, Dollie Jameson, Jessie Lewis, Susie Kemper, Mattie Harris, Anna Baker, Jennie Baker, Messrs. Rice Taylor, Farris Baker, Arthur Bush, Noah Robnett, Louis Doerries, Tom Tuttle, John Harris, Celsus Bailey, William McGregor, Emil Keller, Nesbet Baker and O.D. Jones.

WARD M. BAKER WEDS WELFARE NURSE
---At 3 o'clock Friday afternoon at Columbia Missouri occurred the marriage of Rev. Ward M. Baker of Huntsville and Miss Dorothy Ellen Broeffle of Ogdensbury, New York.
---The bride was a very prominent Red Cross worker during the World War, after that time she went to Columbia where she became county Welfare Worker.
---The groom united with the M. E. Church when young and has been a member of the Missouri conference M. E. Church, South all of his ministerial life, a very popular preacher and well and favorably known in La Plata.

WARD M. BAKER
---The Rev. Ward M. Baker, retired Southern Methodist Minister, died Sunday at his home in Lockport, New York.
---The body was brought to La Plata Wednesday afternoon and burial was made in the La Plata cemetery beside the body of his first wife who was a sister of Mrs. W.C. Walden of this city.
---He was a native of Calloway County where he grew to young manhood and entered the ministry.
---After his retirement he went to New York where he and Mrs. Baker had operated a health resort.
---Surviving are his widow, a brother, Nesbit Baker of Ocean View, California and a sister, Mrs. Anna Boulware, also of California. He leaves a son and daughter by his first marriage and a son by his second marriage.

Ward M. Baker married a second time to Dorothy Broeffle on February 1, 1924 in Columbia, Missouri and they had one son:
