Otto William Bielss, Jr., 77, passed away December 25, 2010. He was born November 12, 1933.
He was a teacher, educator, a professor at DCCCD and Paul Quinn College, a tutor in both math and life and a friend to many. He was a Christian and a youth director at many churches. He was a baseball and softball player and coach as well as a sports official in baseball, football, swimming, in-line hockey and basketball.
He was a cowboy and band member at Harden Simmons University where he received his undergrad degree in mathematics, an Eagle at North Texas State University where he received his Master's in Education.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, a Shriner, Mason, an avid reader, a silent partner in the Eagle Sound Productions and a world travelor.
Otto was so much to so many. He died in his sleep on a trip to Winter Park, Colorado. He will be missed by all. Thanks for being a part of so many lives.
Survivors include sons Otto Bielss III, and wife Jennifer Ann Bielss of Savannah, GA, and Paul Bielss and wife Rebecca Ann Bielss of Euless; grandchildren Otto W. Bielss IV of Euless, Heather Nicole Lane and husband, Scott Ryan Lane, of Savannah, GA, Patrick Lee Bielss and Pamela Marie Bielss of Euless; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Paige Lane, Corbin Brooks Lane, and Isabella Ryanne Lane of Savannah, GA.
He was preceeded in death by his wife Patsy Lee.
He had four siblings.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 30, 2010, with a viewing starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Northgate United Methodist Church, 3700 W. Northgate Dr., Irving, Texas 75062-3004.
Instead of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to either a cancer or heart association in Otto Bielss's name, or to any breast cancer association in Patsy Lee Bielss's name.
