The funeral of Mrs William Benson was held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Marion street M.E. church with the Rev A.L. Golden in charge of the services. Interment was made in Linwood Park cemetery. Mrs Hellen Benson was born in Airgic, Scotland, on May 16, 1873, and died in Boone, March 18, 1913 after a lingering illness of several weeks duration at the age of 40 years, 10 months and 2 days. She attended the public schools and grew to womanhood in her hometown in Scotland. In the year 1891 she was united in marriage to William Benson and to this union eight children were born, who with the husband all remain at home to mourn the loss of the devoted wife and kind and loving mother.
