Pauline M. Horr, 98, of Holton, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Medicalodges Jackson County nursing home in Holton.

She was born July 6, 1912 at Perry, KS, the daughter of Oscar and Maude Killinger Ross.

Pauline and her husband ran the theatre in Oskaloosa. She also cooked in various restaurants including the New York Grill, and the Hamburger Inn, ("The Dump") in Holton.

She married Gilbert K. Horr on November 5, 1934 at Manhattan, KS. He died January 12, 1975.

Survivors include her daughters-in-law, Shirley Horr of Holton and Rowena Horr of Topeka, KS; one brother, Roy Ross, Independence, MO; two sisters, Irene Schultz, Leavenworth, KS, and Virginia Reiling, Oskaloosa, KS; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Pauline was preceded in death by three sons, Gerald Horr, Robert Horr and Donald Horr and two brothers, Ira Ross and Johnny Ross.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton, with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Holton Cemetery. Pauline will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or Medicalodges Activity Fund, and may be sent in care of the funeral home, P. O. Box 1034, 66436.
