Dorothy married William E. Holton in Peru, Indiana on July 11, 1943; he died February 21, 2008. She graduated from Peru High School in 1939 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Wabash. Dorothy also was a member of the local and national chapters of the AARP, the Wabash American Legion Auxiliary, and the Wabash Senior Club.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Judi (Michael) Mitten of Wooster, Ohio, Nancy Baker of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Margaret Holton of Wabash; 4 grandchildren, Ann (Mike) Gibson of Monkton, Maryland, John (Sheri) Mitten of Cary, North Carolina, Justin (Amber) Baker of Xenia, Ohio, and Ross Baker of Cincinnati; 5 great-grandchildren, Calvin Gibson, Cooper Gibson, and Madeline Gibson all of Monkton, and Matthew Mitten and Nathan Mitten both of Cary. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 2:00 with Pastor David Cross officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call from 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is First United Methodist Building Fund.
