In Los Angeles, Leo worked at North American Aircraft where he met Maggie "Margie"LaRue, also working at North American, and they later married on April 11, 1943. First son, Keith, was born in 1944 while living there and later the family moved to Leo's home town of Verden, OK, in 1948, to own and operate the family owned business Wayside Cafe and filling station with M.C. and Mae Talkington Spradley. This was a business that was formerly owned by Orgel and Orville Talkington. Second son, Dennis, was born later in 1948 in Anadarko, OK. Leo and Margie continued owning and operating the business after M.C. Spradley's moved to OKC, OK, in 1954, for another 16+ years and later selling the business to Vivian Hughes' family.
Leo was a member of the Verden Methodist Church, an excellent lawn and flower gardener, an avid basketball participant of all Verden high school games, a member of B.P.O.E. Elks in Chickasha, OK, and a class parent for all years of Keith and Dennis' classes at Verden school.
Preceding Leo in death were parents, Samuel and Millie Talkington; brothers, Norman and Orville Talkington. Survivors include wife, Margie; sons, Keith and wife Jan Talkington and Dennis and wife Sandra Talkington; grandchildren, Shane, Hope, Chris, Kevin, and Jason Talkington; brothers, Roy and Orgel Talkington; sisters, Mae Spradley and Bernice McComas.
Funeral was held at Verden United Methodist Church on January 22, 1979, with burial at Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, OK, with Binyan Funeral Home in Chickasha, OK.
