Flossie May Crawford McDevitt, 96, of Carlinville died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2001, at Carlinville Area Hospital. She was born May 21, 1905, in Palmyra, the daughter of Grant and Maude Hays Crawford. She married Ernest Lee Roy McDevitt in 1935 in Hettick; he preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. McDevitt retired from Olin Mathison Ammunition Co. in Alton. She was a life member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and Pleasant Dale Baptist Church in rural Girard. Survivors: a sister, Faye Scroggins of Palmyra; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Stults-Neece Funeral Home in Palmyra, the Rev. Gary Harding officiating. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery in Palmyra.
