SEVERNA PARK,MARYLAND -- Cornelius Ardinger "Neil" Hager, 69, a resident of Severna Park since 1963, died Wednesday, March 12, 1997.

Born Dec. 2, 1927, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Anna and Vernon Hager. Mr. Hager graduated from Allegany High School in 1945. He entered the U.S. Navy and served for two years as an electrician's mate. In 1961, he moved to Baltimore and was employed by the Lyon, Conklin Co. as shop supervisor. In 1978, he started his own business of servicing and selling sheet metal fabricating machinery. He retired in 1993, and turned over the former Hager & Sons to his sons. He was interested in boating, fishing, and his hobby, woodworking. He was a member of the Eastern Shore Choptank Muzzeloaders.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Rosemary Hager; two sons, Douglas Hager, Baltimore, and Martin Hager, Millersville; four grandchildren; and one sister, Verna Cooper, Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Friends will be received at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Mass will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, Severna Park, on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Monsignor Edward Staub officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cumberland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John the Evangelist Church Building Fund, or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.
