Mr. James Prentiss Morgan II, age 69, of Sandersville, formerly of Lilburn, died Friday morning December 31, 2010 in the Extended Care Facility in Sandersville following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 3, with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. The Rev. Jeff Cook will officiate.

Mr. Morgan was a native of Screven County, Georgia, the son of the late James Prentiss Morgan, Sr. and the late Jeaneva Vereene Morgan. He was the former owner of Metro Phone Company of Lilburn. Mr. Morgan was a graduate of Middle Georgia College and Georgia Tech and was an avid follower of Georgia Tech sports. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeana Morgan Williams.

Survivors are a son, Barry "Bubba" Morgan of Covington, four grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Shelby Dianne Morgan, Jessica Lynn Morgan Ensman and Barry Owen Morgan, Jr., a great grandchild, Peyton Ensman, and a sister, Pricilla Morgan Harell of Plainsville, Alabama.
