New Harmony - Dorita Jean (Fisher) Logan, 67, of New Harmony, Indiana, died at 3:39 p.m. Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Deaconess Hospital. Dorita is survived by her husband of 37 years. John "Jack" Logan of New Harmony; three daughters, Linda Butler and husband Stephen of Wadesville, Kathy Wagner-Hobbs and husband John of Mount Vernon, Indiana, and Jackie Baxter and husband, Michael of Mount Vernon, Indiana; a stepdaughter Melissa Swain and husband, Jack of Grayville, Illinois; two sisters, Sharon Saltzman and husband, Jerry of New Harmony and Jane Fisher of Mount Vernon, Indiana. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Monica and Daniel Powell, Aaron, Logan and April Powell, Branden Wagner, Corey and Katelyn Hobbs, Hannah Winebarger, and Anthony and Amanda Baxter; and 11 great-grandchildren. Dorita was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Powell, a grandson, Jonathon Winebarger, a sister Ginger Little, and her parents, Edward "Homer" and Kathlyn Mae (Bailey) Fisher. Dorita was a 1955 graduate of New Harmony High School, a 1967 graduate of Lockyears, and had worked at the State Hospital and Deaconess as a medical transcriptionist. She was very active in her community, belonging to the American Legion Auxiliary for 14 years, Tri-Kappa, the Homemakers Club and the First Bapist Church of New Harmony. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at the First Baptist Church in New Harmony, Indiana, with Brother Larry Conyers officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in New Harmony. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2006, at Werry Funeral Home, New Harmony Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 4847 E. Virginia St., Suite A, Evansville, Indiana, 47715.
