Born at Harris, LA, of Charley Homer and Evie Cardwell Acklen. Married Douglas Aquilla Moorehead. Gave birth to Bobby Ray (1935) and James Marshal (1938) Moorehead of Minden, LA, and Cairo, Egypt, respectively.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Terri Culpepper, Bob Moorehead and Pam Moorehead of Minden and Michael and Tara Moorehead of Cairo, Egypt.
She spent her life living in Harris Community, Gibsloand and Minden, LA. They ran a small grocery store off Sibley Road in Minden for many years. She and Mr. Moorehead may be remembered as owning the small Moorehead Grocery at two different locations in the Sibley Road area.
She loved her Sunday School class at First Baptist Church where she had served as secretary to the class. She survived breast cancer in 1958 after surgery for same.
