On Mar. 17, 1961 she was married to Carl R. Catherman. They had a son Karl who married Diane Baldwin and a daughter Lisa who died in infancy. After her husband's retirement they moved to Mifflinburg in 1994.
Lillian enjoyed needlework, reading and travel. In addition to every state except Hawaii she had visited Canada, Bermuda, Germany and Austria. She was a superb cook and baker.
She was outspoken and had a sharp wit which was evident right to the end.
