Francis Clair Adams passed away peacefully at home of pancreatic cancer on April 19, 2008.

He was born August 19, 1946, in Shelley, Idaho, to Reed Forsyth and Olive Finn Adams. He started his life on a farm near Basalt, a small community in eastern Idaho. When he was 11 years old, his family moved to Idaho Falls. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1964. He married Linda Hansen in 1965. They had a daughter, Lauri DeNae in December 1965. They moved to California in 1967. Clair and Linda were divorced in 1968.

In August 1968, Clair joined the U.S. Army, serving in Korea, Arizona and Germany. In 1971, he returned to Idaho and attended Idaho State University, graduating with a bachelor's degree in 1974. He then went on to graduate from the American Graduate School of International Management of Glendale, Arizona -- better known as Thunderbird School of Global Management and ranked as one of the top graduate management schools in the nation.

On July 30, 1977, Clair married Alice "Margo" Mickelson in Scottsdale, Arizona. In June 1978, Clair obtained a position with the Arizona State Compensation Fund. He worked in Claims, Auditing and Underwriting, becoming a supervisor within three years. In January 1984, he accepted a position as Bureau Chief of Policyholder Services with the Idaho State Insurance Fund in Boise. He very much enjoyed his career. One of his favorite projects was coordinating the remodel of the former Sears building into the current State Insurance Fund building. Clair was grateful for the opportunity to serve Idaho employers for 24 years.

In June 1988, Margo and Clair adopted a newborn son, Jon Michael. Clair enjoyed family life, sports and traveling.

Clair was preceded in death by his father, Reed; and sister, JoAnn. He is survived by his mother, Olive; brothers, Doug and Kay; wife, Margo; daughter, Lauri; son-in-law, Bill; son, Jon; and grandsons, Jacob and Wyatt.
Clair was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son and Brother to his family and a warm-hearted companion to his friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
