Helen Margaret (Kinney) MacConnell of Cadillac, Michigan, entered eternal life on Sunday afternoon, January 2, 2011 at Lakeview Lutheran Manor in Cadillac. She was 87 years old.
She was born in Cadillac on June 9, 1923 to John & Violet (Swanberg) Burns and they preceded her in death.
On June 14, 1941 she married Harry E. Kinney and he preceded her in death on August 18, 1975. She later married Edwin F. MacConnell on August 11, 1979 and he preceded her in death on September 27, 1982. Helen had been affiliated with Temple Hill Baptist Church in Cadillac and enjoyed bingo, yatzee, playing cards, and was a good cook and baker.
Survivors include her children: Jim (Gayla) Kinney of Leroy, Larry (Patricia) Kinney of Rockford, Jack Kinney of Cadillac, Sandra (Joe) Baker of Cadillac, and Linda (Greg) Huron of Wetmore, MI; 17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Marilyn) Burns of Cadillac; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lyle Burns; a grandson, Clifford Masten, Jr.; and an infant granddaughter, Margaret Ellen Kinney.
Visitation: Tuesday January 4, 2011 from 6-8 PM at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.
Memorial Services: Wednesday January 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Robert Kahly officiating.
